Aiden's First Haircut
As if we didn't have enough to do while in CT, I also took the boys for haircuts. Aiden got his very first haircut! And now he so doesn't look like a little boy anymore! He looks so grown up. I wanted him to stay a baby and the hair helped, but he was starting to look like he wanted to bring back the mullet. So we chopped it off and cleaned it up.
St. Paddy's Day
And a time to visit with "Uncle Mike". We went to the Milford St. Patrick's Day parade while on our trip to CT. It was a great chance to visit with Jason and my friend, Mike. The kids love him. They think he is so much fun to play with and hang out with. And I would trust him with my boys any day. So we met up on the green to watch the parade. We got some pizza and sat on blankets. Aiden did awesome - spent the whole time in his stroller and didn't complain - he was totally entertained. Thank goodness. I was really sad to hear that Mike is thinking about moving to CO. We will miss seeing him on our visits up north, but then again it is another destination to visit, and a great reason to go back to CO.
Great Friends
I want to take a moment to talk about great friends. I have been blessed with many great friends in my life.
One of those great friends, Janine, was kind enough to put us up for our visit up north. We had talked about staying in a hotel, but then there would be no night time visits. Just me and the boys, so I would have to head back to the hotel with them around 8 and then what? So we crashed in the basement of Janine's house. I was a little worried about how it would all work, but was pleasantly surprise that everyone slept really well. It was great. Aiden crashed in his pack'n'play, and Jakob and I slept on the air mattress. The kiddos played well together, they napped well, and all ate well. Which is good news, since Jakob really never ate when visiting their house!
This visit came at a stressful time for my dear friend. Her wonderful mother has been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. So sad. So another reason we were thinking hotel was that J9 had so much on her mind. I am hoping that having us there was a bit of a distraction. Right now they are going for a second opinion and looking into getting a third from Sloan Kettering in NY. I am not one for praying or requesting people pray, but I am now doing just that. I love this woman, my kids call her Meme. She is a fighter, she will fight this, she has faith that she will. And so I have faith in her. In her fight. And that is why I pray today. I pray to whomever is out there to guide her through this and give her the strength to fight this. This family needs her.
And I also want to pay homage to my other awesome friends in CT. Thank you for coming to the playgroups that were organized while I visited, and thanks to those for hosting. And a shout out to those that made it out for a "beverage", too bad the service and availability of food/drink sucked!!! Better luck next time. And the next time is scheduled to happen in July. Details to follow!

Jakob's Birthday
Jakob is going to be 4 this weekend! I cannot believe it. Where, oh where has the time gone? My baby, my first baby boy is growing up so quickly. Its so hard to believe that so much time has passed. Have I done everything right? Probably not. Is he a good kid? Yes, for the most part! I love him. I personally (and I am biased) think he is the most awesome four year old.
We just got back from a trip, with the main purpose of this trip being Jakob's birthday party. It was a great reason to head up to CT and see our friends. Jakob had been asking me to see his friends on almost a daily basis. So he was all set for this trip. It took a bit of stress and traffic to get there (long story - traffic, no exit, no gas, two tired and hungry boys in the car, at night), but we did and had such a blast. The bowling party was so much fun. Jakob didn't leave his lane for the entire time - he pitched a fit when he had to stop! The cupcakes, cookies and fortune cookies were a huge hit. As well as the M&M's we had ordered with the kiddo's names and photos on them were. Jakob thought it was really cool to eat an M&M with Natalie's picture on it! Natalie and Jakob really didn't mind sharing the spotlight with each other at all. We sang Happy Birthday to them both, they each had their own candle to blow out, and they each had a HUGE bundle of presents to open. Their friends were extremely thoughtful and generous with their gifts - Jakob has had so much fun playing with them all. *thank you to those who are reading this - cards are heading to the post office shortly*
This weekend we will be celebrating with my Mother and her boyfriend, and then when Jason comes home from the field we will celebrate with him. Lots of baking in the near future! Hopefully will post pics and recipes.

Soccer Time!!
Jakob's Soccer has started! We missed the first practice since we were out of town. But this Saturday we are going to "his" first practice. I am so excited for him. He loves to run around and play with others, so I am hoping that he has a blast doing this. It will be a little more structured playing than he is use to, but he shouldn't have any problems getting into the swing of things.
I will take lots of pictures and share them with you all over the weekend.
I can't wait to see what his team name and colours are....I see cupcakes and cookies in the near future.

over a month!!! No way!
I cannot believe it has been over a month since I have blogged. What a slacker I am! It has been a rough month. I wont go into it all, but we are on the upswing and things are looking up. Spring is here and so it is a time for new beginnings, new adventures, and love.
I have missed out on a lot by not blogging for so long. I have missed some great TWD recipes - I AM SO SORRY!! Why am I constantly apologizing? Why can't I get it together and get it done? Arg. Ok - no more putting myself down. I have been busy. Lots to do. And now I am going to work on finding the time to blog about it.
So here we go folks.....
