Tiramisu. I had such hopes. But I hate so say that Dorie let me down. It might be that I had to substitute some ingredients, and misread some of the directions, but I am not sure. Looking at some of the other stunning ones (like this one by Rebecca) I realize that I failed. Mine were dry, forgot the mini chocolate chips, and didn't make enough filling/frosting to cover my little cakes.
So please don't judge the recipe by my attempt! Check out all the other great cakes from the others at Tuesdays with Dorie, and you can find the recipe over on Megan's blog My Baking Adventures.
So all you get from me is this picture.....
And maybe an agreement to try this again!

But, it LOOKS great.
I'm icing my cake tonight....at the last minute as usual.
Dry cake bakers unite! I was disappointed too but another Tuesday approaches. High hopes for the lemon tart!
Well it certainly looks good to me.
So I'd say definitely try again!
Yup, as the resident fan of the mascarpone filling, I'd say slather it up with lots of that next time and you will not feel "ho hum" at all!

It's not your fault this cake was as dry as a stale Twinkie. I thought it needed more syrup.
Thanks for linking to my photo, but I love yours. You actually get to SEE what's in those layers.
Well, it looks pretty anyway!
It looks good though! I skipped it, but love tiramisu, just never made it before.
Doesn't look like a failure from here...it looks really lovely. Maybe the flavor wasn't what you hoped for...any chance of jazzing that up? Because you cake is beautiful!

I think it looks wonderful with the flow of frosting down the sides. Yummy!
